Eugenio Gulías was born in Barcelona in 1970. An industrial engineer by profession, he came into contact with the world of antiques by complete chance.
In 1997 he opened his first antique furniture shop in the well-known area of Barcelona called “ Los Encantes ”. For several years he specialised in Catalan modernism and vintage office furniture, although without a doubt, his travels around Europe marked a turning point in his professional life and exercised a clear influence on his aesthetic concept.
For ever in constant evolution and looking towards the future, in 2002 he decided to move his project to the centre of Barcelona and Lalithamma was born .
The search for and acquisition of each piece becomes a special courtship for Eugenio and the challenge to acquire a curious, extraordinary and unique object rekindles the enthusiasm that he feels for his profession. Eugenio cannot be defined as a conventional antique dealer; he doesn’t limit himself to a concrete period, he likes mixtures, fusion, his style is somewhat eclectic and in his spaces the aesthetic effect of the whole stands out over the individual object.
Currently, he is working on his personal project “Creaciones propias”,(Self-creations), a singular and contemporary interpretation of the world of antiques, which under the concept of “art on furniture” aims to unite two such very different worlds.
